Ride to the Hills

Considered the very first organized natural terrain freeride competition, Ride to the Hills took FMX outside of the stadium and into the raw backcountry mountains of California.

The Challenge

Transporting heavy broadcast film gear deep into unmapped desert terrain without any production infrastructure.

The Approach

Jay personally sculpted the natural hits and brought in independent riders to jump terrain that previously was deemed impossible. The film relied heavily on raw natural audio and immense helicopter long-lensing.

The Result

Broke the mold of what a motocross event could be, paving the way directly for modern events like Red Bull Imagination.
